“Urban Maps was an idea born out of frustration
” says company CEO Michael Jones.
Urban Maps began early in 2008 and was an idea hatched out of a need to minimise hassle. Today still there are no other businesses available that can show shoppers what a particular high street has to offer. Our aim is to bring life back to the high street harnessed through the power of the internet, we want to support local retailers and businesses in these difficult times by helping them to connect them with consumers.
The Urban Maps team passionately believe in the business and strive each day to improve our product further.
Who We Are
Urban Maps is a new, unique and innovative guide to high streets and shopping centres. It’s a free internet information service for shoppers to help them find exactly what they need on your high street. Easy one-click printable maps ensure that shoppers can always have their guide at hand with everything from parking to restaurants and the exact location of all the local shops.
Urban Maps brings the might of the high street to the power of the internet and helps engage a community in a specific area.
We bring maximum exposure for retailers and useful information and engagement for consumers, Urban Maps’ aim is to be the hub of the community for locals and tourists alike.

Up to date information - our field researchers re-walk each of our areas every three months.
Comprehensive - all businesses on the high street receive a basic listing, regardless of whether they have opted to purchase advertising space with us.
Transposable artwork and information - information is designed to be used in both offline and online promotions.
Flexible - consumers can print off a map directly from the site as well as downloading it to their computer
Promotions - retailers can use maps as promotional items and update their latest offers 24 hours a day
What We Do
Urban Maps CEO Michael Jones is on a mission to build the most comprehensive and interactive shopping and restaurant guide in the UK. With over 170 areas already live on the web, in and around Greater London, and more being added every month the service is growing rapidly.
We do all the hard work to ensure that are maps are comprehensive, accurate and easy to use, which means consumers can search on a comprehensive range of criteria from types of shops or restaurants to opening hours and contact details. Our field researchers walk the streets to ensure complete and accurate mapping for every local business. Each map is refreshed regularly to ensure our maps are always up to date.
At Urban Maps we are passionate about supporting local retailers and businesses to bring the high street to life, connecting retailers to consumers.
