Baker Street 

Few won't have heard of Baker Street, a famous London Street made so by fictional characters, and one of London's most touristic locations due to it's museum of non-fictional characters. That greatest of all detectives Sherlock Holmes resided here on Baker Street, albeit at an address as fictional as he himself, and of course following him were a multitude of crime fighters just as great as he - some would say greater? take Danger Mouse for instance. While notable events in history include the opening of the world's first underground station, and a significant robbery in 1971 (the subject of 2008's "The Bank Job"), most will undoubtedly flock here for London's Madame Tussaud's, one of the greatest waxwork museums in the world. Though if you were looking for the London Planetarium, then head to Greenwich as although the distinct domed building still exists, it is now also part of the Tussaud's building. With it's attractiveness to tourists and pilgrims alike (The Beatles' Apple Boutique was here too), it stands to reason that you'll also find some of the best shopping here as well (and if you take Baker Street all the way you'll end up staring at Selfridges on Oxford Street). While you do have a fair few fashion shops, you'll perhaps find the shopping is more entertainment focused, and you'll find that there are more than enough eateries to choose from. Baker Street surely is an excellent London location to visit, pulling together a lot of the elements that makes London what it is, and serves to give you a good feel of the capital as a whole.
