Brick Lane 

<div> Hailed by many as the new Camden, Brick Lane has become one of the most hip and happening spots in London to be seen, and it's not unusual to glimpse the odd celebrity now and again in one of the trendy bars that Brick Lane is famous for. Seeped in culture, the street is on the edge of Whitechapel (it was previously called Whitechapel Lane) which was home to one of the most infamous villains from London's history - Jack the Ripper. After years and years of immigration, Brick Lane is now home to a diverse community and some of the best Indian Restaurants in London can be found here. On top of this, the area's become a vibrant hub for students of art and fashion, and there's a wealth of creative space. Art has long been an aspect of the street, being world famous for its graffiti and drawing many a band here to film videos (The Killers being one of the more recent bands to do so). As far as shopping goes, don't come here to find common high street retailers; do come here to find some of the most unique independent clothes shops you're likely to find in London, with most taking an interest in vintage fashions. No matter what time of the day, you'll always find something weird and wonderful here and the place buzzes with energy, making you feel like everyone's your friend no matter what walk of life they - or you - are from. Though the "lane" is not pedestrianised, most cars know better than to try it, and for the most part you can wander all over the road undisturbed, parts of which remain cobbled to this day. Another long standing feature of the area are the many markets that can be found on various days of the week, both outside and indoors, and it's not uncommon to find a local resident on the road with a blanket of possessions to sell. At the Northern end you'll find an array of cafe bars to chillax in, while more centrally located you'll find the Vibe Bar and 93 Feet East, two of the bar/clubs that have helped raise Brick Lane since the 90's to it's current standing at the top of the "cool" list.
