Camden 

Camden is a very famous and popular London district found to the north of the centre, and through many years of being associated with musical talent and being a cool, edgy place to be, is now one of the most visited areas of London. Much is associated with Camden, such as the Regent's Canal where canalboat trips can be taken, and the Camden Locks - a beautiful spot to find yourself in the summer with a pint in hand. It's perhaps most famous for it's markets, having four main - and rather large - market places that are open all week. It's easy to lose yourself in any one of these with something new and exciting in every stall you come across, and there's lots of food takeaways for refuelling without even having to leave. The great fire of 2008 destroyed much of one of the main market areas, but has since been rebuilt and is yet again a bustling metropolis of unique and wonderful kiosks. Outside of the markets and back onto the high street, you won't be disappointed with the continuation of alternative shops, and if souvenirs is what you've come for you'll be spoilt for choice. While you get the odd high street retailer here and there, the magic of Camden has been kept alive with a good range of independents, and being a favourite with the punk scene you'll find a few tattoo parlours and piercing studios too. The area has close ties with music with the MTV studios being round the corner, and it's also the birth place for much of yesterday's men (Madness being founded here) and today's talent. Going out in Camden for the night is something that certainly shouldn't be overlooked, for there are many pubs, bars and clubs that have made their mark, like the World's End which is a huge public house that, although may have changed it's name a couple of times, hasn't changed a brick since it was opened in the 1700's. Culture, diversity, unique, weird, exotic and hippy are all words you'd easily associate with the area, but none more than simply "brilliant".
