Chalk Farm

Map of Chalk Farm

Chalk Farm is not a farm. Nor does it have any Chalk. What it does have is a prime location linking the hotspots of North London. Lying to the North of Camden, Chalk Farm deals with the overflow of trendy shops from that fashionable, tourist-friendly area and provides a slower pace of life while doing so. Meanwhile, to the North is the popular Belsize Park, which then leads on to the beautiful area of Hampstead (with both its Heath and High Street), both of which being walkable or alternatively 1 or 2 tube stops away respectively. Perhaps Chalk Farm's biggest claim to fame is the Roundhouse; a popular arts and music venue converted from a unique, circular train engine shed. To cater for the visitors of this creative hub, among the varied shops are an impressive selection of bars and restaurants which make for a very good night out. Perhaps the last thing that needs to be said about this essential "linking" high street is its proximity to the beautiful, upmarket village-like area of Primrose Hill; a hot spot for tourists and residents alike, Chalk Farm provides the closest tube stop for this oft-visited town and is literally a hop, skip and a jump across a bridge away.
