Camden Lock Market is one of four main markets in Camden, and like the others is situated right off the high street, by the canal. Spread out primarily over two levels, this designated area is very open, and the shops surround open space where in the summer months you'll often find some stalls offering barbecued food. Even if you're not hungry, the smell alone will probably pull you toward them. The market itself is also spread over two levels, and is in an undercover market square. Here the stalls offer everything from fashion accessories to home ware, and plenty of unique jewellery and gifts that Camden is famous for. The permanent shops that enclose the market square on one side, and the open space with a canal barge parking space on the other, are a mixture of more unique offerings, clothes shops, second hand music and books, and a few nice cafes and eateries as well as a collection of bars and pubs. In the Summer months you may well find difficulty in moving as every inch of space seems taken up with chilled out patrons, relaxing by the canal with a pint in their hand watching the world, and everyone else go by.
